About the Project
Cardt is an ongoing project of hand drawn unique collectible cards. The name was created by overlapping the words card and cartoon. The two concepts have a shared history.
Cartoons are a method of combining image and material (cardboard).
Cartoon (n.) 1670s, "a drawing on strong paper" (used as a model for another work), from French carton or directly from Italian cartone "strong, heavy paper, pasteboard," thus "preliminary sketches made by artists on such paper"
